This is a rare opportunity to own a complete run of Chris Ware's Rusty Brown comic strip that ran in New City and The Chicago Reader from 2000-2005. Plus pages from the serialized versions of Jimmy Corrigan and Building Stories, including the famous page of Jimmy looking up at the building where "Superman" jumped to his death (which has only been printed in the compromised horizontal format for the book edition). These strips are all gorgeously printed in a vertical format, the same design with which the original art is drawn. The compositions and colors are stunning. The pages have been preserved in acid free archival binders for two decades. Included in the binder is a signed first page of the Rusty Brown strip which reads "Much of this will change I'm afraid. C Ware 2000."

Also included in this lot is a complete run of the New York Times Magazine comic strip of "Building Stories" which was serialized in their "Funny Pages" section from 2005-2006. I'm also including some odds and ends like clippings of comic strips and illustrations by Ivan Brunetti, Archer Prewitt, Dan Clowes, and Adrian Tomine. Plus 2 complete "comics issue" editions of New City (cover by Ivan Brunetti) and The Chicago Reader (cover by Chris Ware).
